To save on ground clearence you may want to run the oval pipes right after your x pipe.
If you visit spintech's website, you will see they offer tons of oval tubing option. I really wish I would of known about it before I made my tubing purchases for my true duals. Because you can really save on the ground clearence with these oval setups.
Just wanted to give ya an idea.
I like dumps on my exhaust. People who have problems with interior sound and vibrations should stay away from them though. Because the sound reflects off the ground into the car, and all around you. With side exits or traditional rear exits, you can point your sound away from the car and outward, so it will get rid of that.
If I were you, I would try the dumps out first. If you don't like them, you can always buy 90 degree mandrel bend pipes and covert to side exits.
Just my .02,
Mike

if you used those nascar style things, you could keep most of the tubing in towards the tunnel where theres a little more room and then those skinny things will go out to the sides and save you a bit of clearance.. Dr Gas has all different kinds, you could go out one side, or the other, or both

I think the greater distance between the ends of the pipes ( side exit vs. rear exit ) creates a better "stereo" effect or something like that. Either way, side exits are the best sounding style exhaust setup I've ever owned. With that said...they were the worst idea I ever had.

haha a little contradictory there huh....there is a guy with a black trans am w/true dual side pipes (sweet thunder mufflers)...go to ls1sounds.com and see if you can find it...i know it's on there...it's under true duals...sounds great
i also think there are pictures somewhere on here of it...see if you can find it through i search...you might get lucky or you may not find it...who knows...i'd say it's worth a try though
