Default Hooker CatBack On...Thanks A.R.T.!!!

Got a chance to put my new Hooker Catback on today. I went from the Loudmouth when I bought the car to wide open Y pipe w/ no Catback for the last two weeks.

I called Charles at American Racing Tech last week and got the catback today. All I can say is wow! I'm very impressed with the build quality and fitment. The sound is a nice mellow idle tone and nice and agressive at WOT.

Will this catback get louder as time goes on? I've had exhausts on cars before that got louder as time went on, but I'm not sure if this one will. Anyone know?

Anyway, I just wanted to say how please I was with the system and with A.R.T. for getting me set up with it.

I don't put many miles on my car, but I've had the catback on for about a year and haven't noticed it get louder - it actually seems quieter - probably because I'm used to it now. Can't wait to get some LT's on there! Congrats on your purchase - you won't be disappointed.

I switched from LM to Hooker when I got my LT's and I think it is the best decision I've made.

Mine didn't get louder. It's a chambered muffler constructed completely of metal. Explain how it can get louder. Mufflers that get louder are ones packed with fiberglass, and as it burns out over time they will get louder.

I've got one of these on order. Got a question since you just installed yours - does the i-pipe diameter go down to 2.75" where it goes on the y-pipe?

Yes it does. The Loudmouth that was on my car before had the clamp welded to it so I had to go buy an exhaust clamp and I used the 2.75" version.
