SLP lid fitment?
SLP lid fitment? What's up guys! I just purchase my first mod on my 2001 SS, a SLP lid and fernco Bellow. It cost me $96.00 in total, not bad. Anyways I tried putting the lid on and I had problems fitting the lid on. The clips didn't want to clip the lid. After a few adjustments the left clip went on but the right didn't. Any Ideas and is this common?

I just installed my SLP lid a couple days ago, took a couple minutes fooling around with the tabs. Just follow the directions it came with, and make sure the tabs in the back of the lid are properly in the holes. Sounds to me like u may not have it properly seated onto the filter.

thats so bizarre that what should be the most trusted company has such fitment issues with their arguably simplest product. weird my MTI lid went on without any problems.

I don't think there are fitment issues, more so operator issues as the lid sit's a little diffent on the lower air box, that seems to be most of what I have read anyway. I had the SLP lid and now run the MTI because it fits better with the TNT power ring. The SLP was a better quality lid than the MTI lid IMO...

I have had issues with my SLP lid since i got the car, the back 4 tabs will not stay in their holes. Its the like the MAF, throttle body and bellows are to long and are pushing it up and out of place, resulting in the entire back of the lid to be up leaving a 1/4 inch gap across the back.(an annoying whistle accompanies this gap from the air sucking through i am running out of ideas here)

Must be a slow day because it seems like a number of threads from over a half a decade ago are being revived.
My slp lid like everyone else's is just fine fitting (the rubber weatherstripping material is crap but that's to be expected). If there is any fitment issue it's your bellow that needs fixing.

I think some of it is that the cars are becoming so affordable there are lots of new folks that are coming on-board and reviewing the old threads...heck of a great car/motor combo!
