Default Exhaust Help!!!

got an '02 SS and it has a flowmaster exhaust and a lid for performance mods...

by the end of the year i will be runnin Kooks, cats,y pipe, and GMMG exhaust

btu for now my exhaust is not cuttin it, its just not loud, sounds ok but you have to be IN THE GAS to hear it

well i was thinikin about get a quick fix until the full exhuat comes

i seen where Mufflex makes a cat delete kit where it replaces your cat pipes with off road pipes and O2 sims so i will be running manifolds,no cats, and my Flowmaster muffler

what do yall think??? i know flowmaster aint the best for the F-body but i just want it to be louder but still sound somewhat the same just more aggresssive and not like an ole beat up truck with a whole buncha poppin

thanks for the help

IMO you should just wait it out till you get your new setup installed, no need in spending money on a setup you're going to replace in the near future

Why get a new system when you know the new one is coming up soon? save the money for other mods.

I would hold off on the cat delete pipes because when you disconnect the y-pipe from the exhaust manifold you have a strong chance at snapping the bolts on the exhaust manifold. A cut out might be something to think about instead. A good exhaust setup are lt's, with flowmaster exhaust with a cutout. You can save quite a bit of money going this route rather then buying the costly GMMG and still have great sound and performance.

buy a set of used cats and hollow them for right now. You can find these cheap and it will be an easy swap. I would just wait and not waste the money.

rigth now im still savin money for my grille and gears(3.73 or 4.10) not sure yet...

then i wanna do Long Tubes(SLP,Kooks,or Dynatech),y-pipe,cats, and GMMG

once this is finished i will be ready for a stall, heads and cam!!!

its just gonna be a while before i can afford full exhaust
i could always save $$$ and stay with my Flowmaster and just buy the headers, cats, and y-pipe but i herd a Full Kooks setup with GMMG and a cam and it sounded sweet

how would LTs,cats,y-pipe, and GMMG sound on a pretty much stock car???

rite now im just lookin for a quick fix but i guess i will wait

if your looking to get louder and a "bit" more power, why dont you just weld in a 35 dollar cutout in the i pipe before the flowmaster? thats what i did for my corsa when it was all stock

no need in spending that much extra cash for a mufflex system or any sytem for that matter. get yourself a cutout and you'll love it. easy on your wallet too. OR if you dont feel like putting out any kind of cash and your itching for something to do...try unhooking your exhaust from the y pipe. just hold it up with some band clapms or a hanger and you're set. trust me that thing will be LOUD!!! i drove around like that for a while and loved it!!!

it sounds ****** awesome. i can't wait to throw an f13 in there tho, should sound even better

get a cutout if you HAVE to have it loud. find a cheap way to open/close it like a pull string or something, w/a spring-loaded closing mechanism. i'm sure rigggin it would be cheap enough(compared to an electric cutout).

you're doin the right thing saving for kooks. they're top-notch in my book.
