Default Which airlid has the shortest neck? (Vortech mod. ?)

The Vortech supercharger kit uses the stock airlid. I want to take advantage of an aftermarket lid. I can get a 4" to 3.5" elbow. Its going to be real tight so I would need the lid that has the shortest neck so that it would clear the tube going into the throttle body. There is a pic in my sig., I may take a better one too. Any thoughts?

holy christ thats a hell of a long induction route!!

why not just get your aftermarket lid and cut the neck? if you heat em up they get real pliable if its a plastic one, and you can just get the elbow right in there and let it cool/cure, and tighten it down with some kind of clamp or whatever. Good luck either way. Are you running the aftercooler down in the passenger front, or what?? That air intake is like a rollercoaster ride!!!!!

Its very tight, it may not be doable. It has the OBX front mount air/air intercooler.

wow wow that is tight, and I think most of the aftermarket lid units have a slight bend pointing down 5 or 10 degrees. That would be REAL rough getting it in there. hmmmmm

Check with the guys in the F/I section. There was someone a while back that was making lids for cars with Vortechs.

Yea, that was the Spectacle Solutions lid. Only a small run of those was made (10 or so). I posted up in the FI section to see if anyone would like to sell one and got zero responses.

dont know if this would work but the K&N FIPK looks like it has the same shape as the stock air lid neck... maybe some one with the FIPK can say whether the stock lid opening is the same size as that of where you connect the FIPK...then maybe you could connect your system directly to the filter instead of a lid.

Anyone know if this could work?
