Default O2 sensors help asap.

Hey guys, i'm buying headers and x pipe today and i was quoted on o2 extensions and o2 sims.

I know that the sims are needed because i will run no cats, but what are the extensions needed for?

I'm also going to remove EGR and AIR, so i guess i would not need o2 sims because i will be getting SES anyway. (LS1 Edit later this month).

So i decided not to buy the o2 sims, but.. do i still need the extensions?

Thanks!

Yes LT's move the oxygen sensors further back, which is why you need extensions.

Yep you'll still have front o2's. Don't know what headers you're installing
but with Pacesetter LT's I used the 12" extensions on both sides. Plenty of slack on pass side but it was tight on the driver side. Probably would have been better to get the 24" for that side. In either case you'll need to tie up the o2 harness on the driver side to the engine mount or somewhere close to keep it off the header tubes.

If I were you I would just go to Advance and buy Corvette O2's and use them. You wouldn't have to worry about extensions then. They are "extra" long. I have been using them ever since I have had headers on my car. Just make sure you get the downstream one's.

Yes, advance is like autozone. The O2's he speaks of are part #13111 (for bosch) at autozone's here in the states. They are meant to be used for the rear set on C5's.
