Default seafoam vacuum picture requested

I am looking for someone to post a picture of where exactly is a good vacuum line to suck seafoam through, I dont want to put this stuff in the wrong place. Can someone get a picture of the motor and circle the tube with MSpaint or something?

Thanks a lot, it means a ton to me!

The brake booster hose is what I've always used. I don't have a picture though.

What ever vacuum line you end up using just don't submerge it into the Seafoam. Pour the Seafoam into a small container then slowly let the vacuum line sip it in. You may have to hold the throttle open a little to keep it running. And kungfuteabag is right...be ready for lots of smoke after you let it soak then fire it up again.

I wish we have thought of that. Submerging it worked for the first three cars we did but when we got to my friends 98 TA, we flooded one of the cylinders and set off the SES light from a misfire.

(We then changed all the plugs only to find out they were all good)

Don't worry about a SES/or flashing SES when doing this kind of service,it will happen more often than not, finish the job and then just clear the code.

I used the brake booster line and a funnel. Slowly poured seafoam into funnel, which was on the end of the brake booster hose.

It's a top-end cleaner. For some reason mine never smoked that i saw, nor did it want to die (except when I just started doing it) I poured it through the line that connects the TB and the valve cover.

Thanks 777. Never heard of the stuff before. BTW, I used to work on 777's. Wondering if the plane is the reason for the screen name?

Here's a pic of the brake booster line. Disconnect at the arrow and suck the Seafoam through there. I added a smalled hose to it to make it easier to reach the container of Seafoam.

ok, gonna try this seafoam stuff.....

just want to make sure i got this straight...

First, unplug the brake vacuum line (how about the line that goes into the tb or the intake from the pcv?).anyways, remove line.

Second, start engine, slowly pour or allow engine to suck the WHOLE BOTTLE (1 pint) of seafoam engine cleaner.

Third, Allow for all of the smoke to clear or stop coming out of pipes.

LEt engine sit and restart....

is this right?

The instructions are on the bottle. IIRC, you only want to use 1/3 of the can. I used half. As well, I used the PCV hose and a funnel.

Might want to warn your neighbors. Mine almost called the fire department.

777, Did you poor it in the line that was still connected to the valve cover? If so, that would explain why it didn't smoke or die because it went straight to the oil pan.

obZidian, you can use either line, they both have vacuum and will suck the liquid in. Do it slow, not so fast that it kills the engine. You will have to keep your hand on the throttle to keep it running though, but don't rev it. Use about a 1/2 can or so and kill the engine when finished and let it sit for a little while. Don't forget to reconnect the vaccum line. Take it for a ride around the neighborhood and let it burn out of the system.

per the scriblings on the can, seafoam is a top end cleaner, oil treatment, and fuel treatment.

I wouldn't use it for anything but a top end treatment

You can also use the PCV inlet in the intake manifold. Detach the hose and use a piece of spare rubber hose to suck it in there.

Anybody ever experienced a hp loss after using seafoam? My engine runs great after using it but it almost feels like it has a lil bit less power now... Maybe it's just in my head. Let me know if anybody has had similar problems
