Default What kind of gains did you guys see with your header install?

What kind of gains did you guys see from your car with just headers and all the other basic bolt ons??
My mods are in my sig.

I am thinking of getting a dyno tune. I am not sure what kind of power I am making now??????????????

I hear a difference and feel a slight difference in power.
I just want some input.

Thanks Guys.

i don't know about hp #s but my car stock manifolds and cats went 13.70 now with pacesetter headers and tsp ory went 13.20 with no tune. Go with some pacesetters LTs and ory from texas speed and performance they have great prices the best I seen.

with 2.73 gear I think I would have gone convertor or gears first.

I'd guess 335hp 340+tq. With a tune you should see another 10hp.

I'm an M6. I saw a 40hp, 50tq increase with my Bolt-ons, CAI, exhaust mods + tune.

Don't know about power gains, but I went from 13.6 to 13.1 with headers and a lid. Car definitely pulls harder now. I would have gone converter first but I am planning a M6 swap and I couldn't pass up the price I paid for the whole exhaust.......right around $500.

Car feels much better, but could use a tune. I'm waiting till I install a cam before I get it tuned.

LOL my buddy has a 2000 SS with a Flowmaster catback. He got the Pacesetters/catted Y from TSP and it made 321hp. Jeff Creech tuned it, and now it's at 340hp.

340hp with a Flowmaster catback and no LS6 intake. Not too shabby if you ask me LOL. Jeff said the car probably made about 305-310 at the wheels before the LTs, so with LTs and a tune, he gained 30-35hp.

The guys who posted their drop in ET, should post what the difference in their MPH was. ET is based on traction so that's a bit misleading.

ready for my experience?

Catback/lid and nitto drag radials = 12.67 at 108
headers/y pipe/tune/no cats = 12.64 at 112

WTF????

after all this.. i went converter and et streets = 12.301 at 109

I figured fug it and switched over to M6 with built t56 and cartek clutch... fm cam and retune.. waiting for everything to get done.

I wasnt impressed but the SEAT OF THE PANTS felt REALLY GOOD with headers.

You went from 108 to 112, that's a nice 4mph gain. Most likely spun at the line to get the same time.

went from 1.9 to 1.80's so no spinning. that was on stock converter. With the yank 3600 I went to 1.70's ( wasnt really good at stalling up and letting go.. yeah yeah I know.. i am a sped..) so there was no spinning.

Could have been bad track prep. You got a good gain in MPH from the headers, so something is amis with the time.

The big gain the second time came from the converter, those tires though seem a bit heavy as they killed some MPH. Seems like the tires are making the motor work harder.

Dropped .31sec in the 1/4 mile and gained 2mph with the addition of the Dynatech Supermaxx header system.

Call me crazy but I actually though it was fun. I mean, doing it yourself helps build your confidence level, and gives you experience working on your car. I did my headers in 14 hours. I did it in the garage with the car on ramps.

More details and stories...My page..... And, some good advise here. I used it. This guy knows his stuff. The pass side header was the worst! After the headers are in, the rest is cake! Check it out.........
