Default exhaust manifold gaskets

i'm going to be putting in my headers this weekend and i see a lot of people saying to use the gaskets that came with the headers (pacesetter coated lt's) and others saying reuse stock or buy new stock gaskets. well, i have pacesetters' obviously since they came with the headers, but i only have 13,700 miles on the SS. can i reuse my current gaskets, should i buy new stock gaskets, or use pacesetters?

and if reuse or buy new stocks, why?

thanks,
chris

Get new gm gaskets once you see the gm compaired to the pacesetters you'll know why.

You will be much better off with the stock gaskets. I learned the hard way, both my gaskets blew out within a year, one in a week. Thats when you start getting that wonderful header tick that everyone talks about. Switched mine to gm gaskets and no more tick.

Reuse stock and you will be fine. Could get new GM gaskets if you really want to. Aren't the ones that come with headers usually paper? Screw paper gaskets, they are a complete joke. I still don't see why they even give them to you.

Also reuse the stock header bolts rather than the ones they might supply.

Hey man, its up to you but if you put the PaceSetter gaskets in youre gonna regret it sooner or later. You could keep your stock gaskets but theyre usually falling apart when you take them off. If I were you I would goto the dealership and buy two new exhaust manifold gaskets and do it right once and it'll be done with.

No probs, I just know its upsetting when you install some new parts and the car runs/sounds like *** afterwards. My new motto is do it right once.
