Default Notch the K-member for Pacesetters

How many of you in the last year have had to notch/modify/cut the k-member to install Pacesetter headers? I just ordered some and want to prepare myself for possibly having to. Btw...I have a 2000 T/A WS6. TIA!

'99 T/A, Pacesetters went on two weeks ago, zero notching and plenty of clearance. Fit in perfectly with room to spare all around on both sides.

Put mine on about 4 months ago. They just slide right on in, no notching or anything like that.

I didn't have to notch anything. I did have to pry the motor over a bit with a 2x4 to get them to clear something on the engine block for the drivers side. Passenger side could fall out onto the ground.

I got mine a year and a half ago..... no notching on passenger side and just a very little bit on the drivers side. The drivers side header actually fit with no notching, but it was very close to the k-member and rattled like hell when the car was running.

Installed mine 2 months ago, slid right in didn't have to do anything. Didn't take the steering shaft loose either. I did have to remove heat shields on floorboard though.

Thumbs up

1999 T/A, bought/installed mine 11 months ago, just slid right in no problems. Was a real easy install. JUST DONT USE THE GASKETS THAT PACESETTER PROVIDEs!! Use the stock GM header gaskets that are already on your car or better yet goto the dealership and pick up some new ones

Why you tell him not to use stock gaskets? They are the best you can get.

The first run of pacesetters were the ones where you had to notch the k-member......the newer pacesetters are the easiest installed headers in my opinion and i've never seen any problems using the stock gaskets, the biggest part of installing pacesetters is getting the car high enough off the ground...if you have access to a lift then this shouldnt be a problem

let me know if you have any more questions

I know plenty of people with pacesetters on a lowered car including myself and I havent witnessed any scraping problems at all.

We carry the pacesetters and ORY for $500 + shipping

Zero problems, but I have tubular k member, but looks equally good clearance for the stocker. Easy install, use gm gaskets, and get the arp head studs to save you some hassle, I thought they were definatly worth the eighty bucks.

Easy headers to intsall. I installed them in my car in the driveway. I'm lowered and managed to work them in with the car only being up on Rhino Ramps.
