Kooks came in today! I have a couple questions.
Well, my Kooks came in today. Im really impressed with the quality of them and I really like how they have them embossed Kooks logo on them. I have a couple of questions. Has anyone ever used the gaskets that came with them, or should I just see if I can reuse mine or get new ones? Im leaning towards getting new ones because Im afraid these wont last, I dont want to have to replace them. Do I need new O2's? Can I reuse the header bolts or should I just get locking bolts? That is about all I can think of right now. Thanks in advance.

awww you beat me too it lol. my kooks headers arrived today too. well im going to use the gaskets they provided, they look really good as far as quality. im also going to use locking stage 8 header bolts, i would rather pay ~30 dollars and not ever have to worry about leaking. about the o2's as long as you got some extensions you should be fine with reusing the o2's

honestly the factory GM gaskets are the best to use. if the kooks came with paper gaskets i wouldent wast my time with them, they will blow out in a matter of months. i used my ones that were already on my car and it has yett to leak. and for 02's i would go with 02 vett rear o2's for the front of yours, you wont need an extension and they are a little better quality.

Yeah like these guys have already said, if possible reuse your old gaskets, if you can't then get replacements from the dealer. Don't waste your time with the paper gaskets. I went ahead and got the locking header bolts with my headers, like Jeremiah said they won't be backing off anytime soon.

throwing the gaskets that came with the headers away now lol. i didnt realize that stockers were that good. and also the gaskets provided are not made of paper (i think) it feels more of a hard plastic outside and rubber on the inside of the gasket.

I second the GM gaskests, but I would buy new ones, my old ones were kinda nasty when I took them off. Get ARP locking header bolts, but I wouldn't use the locks, mine haven't moved at all, and the locks are a big PITA.
I think the vette o2s are like $65 or so for two, but I just reused my old ones, and haven't had any problem with them, and this is after thousands of miles on the headers.
First pass on header bolts is 11ft/lbs, second is 18ft/lbs.

Thanks for all the info guys. Can I get locking header bolts at Napa or Autozone or some sort of auto parts store like that? Or do I have to order them from ARP directly and wait longer, I hope I dont have to. On monday Im gonna go get my new gaskets so Ill just see if I can find a store that carries the locking header bolts. I cant wait to feel the difference in these headers.

Im going to try Automotive Engineering in the morning and see if they carry them. Hopefully either they will or one of the auto parts stores around here. I just dont want to have to wait any longer to put them on! Can I reuse my stock header bolts? Or is it a must to get new ones?

It was just a piece of mind thing for me, it was worth it to me to know that I won't have a bolt break off, I had heard of that happening, and being the cautious person I am, I bought new bolts.

You can use stock one's or buy new one's, but you don't have to get Stg. 8 locking bolts IMO. 5 years and never a loose bolt yet on stockers. Definatey stay with the GM gaskets as well...
