you are wrong haha, a muffler isnt made to improve flow, no matter which one you get, flow is going to take a hit, but chambered is the best sounding and best flow in some opinions

Also a straight on pic would show a hollow center with a 6 pointed star pattern for the chamber vents.
Try and get a straight on bore shot.

Not dead on bore shot, but close.

BTW, these things sound VERY good, but i'm alittle biased.

How would a set of those bolted right up the headers and a set of turndowns sound?

JL ws-6 - Most headers are 3" outlet, the sweet thunders only go to 2.5", so you'd have to weld up some reducers. But if your after loud, why not just run dual cutouts before the x-pipe, or in your y-pipe? Like this...

Or you could get the TSP duals with sweet thunders dumped before the axle, i believe 777 has this set-up. He might be able to give you some pros and cons on that set-up.

Loud.. heh heh I'm running a qtp y with cats, ( the one with teh 4 inch flowmaster collector ), and a 4 inch pipe that drops hback to 3 inch for 2 inches before the LM resonater.. and then the LM on my car. It's loud now. I'm jsut looking at ripping the entire exhaust after the headers off after I go thru emmissions (CT is good for 2 years) and keeping the stuff I have for the emmission test. I wanna get a set of mufflers to bolt up to the headers and dump them.. I can't run aorund with open headers, that I will definately get in trouble for, but I'm thinking that a set of xr1's, bullets, those chanbered things, somethign like taht would be enought o qiet it down some, without weighing a ton and not be a huge restriction.

I'm mainly gonna remove the exhaust for the weight gain more then anything.. I'm sure that what I have now isn't costing me a whole lot in the HP department... the dyno# in my sig is thru a steel driveshaft and a 12 bolt with a posi,a nd I am running the heavy billet steel flywheel that spec sells.. and that's with full belts, pump gas, etc. etc... and no elec water pump.... so this is all about the weight loss, not the power/sound.

Thanks JL ws-6!

For weight loss, duals dumped before the axle would be your best bet, for sure. I bet you could fab up a h-pipe if you didn't want to add the extra weight of an x-pipe, an save a pound or so.
As you can see from the pics, the sweet thunders won't quiet it down much
But i believe the XR1's would do the most for you, if your running right off the headers.

Oh yeah, right off te headers is where it will be at... I won't even go to an x.. too much weight LOL

I gotta goal to remove about 150 lbs before the end fo the season.. If the car ran the times in my sig shifting at 5800 instead of 6400 like I should have, and the 60 foot was as bad as it was, spinning pretty much all of first gear (need alot bigger burnout) then shifting at the right spot, and getting a good 150 out with good air will get teh car into the 11's no doubt... or at least I hope! Noise just has to be quiet enough so the 5.0 don't gimmie any crap... they haven't bothered me with a catted y and a LM yet, so if I behave.. I think I'll be o.k.
