QTP will not fit onto flowtech cutout
the studs on my flowtech cutout only have about 1 - 2 threads sticking out the top of the QTP, and almost no threads showing with a gasket installed.
anyone else have this problem?
i was going to install it tonight but aparently this isn't going to be a painless easy install like i expected. the dremel is going to have to grind off the welds on the old bolt "studs" and i'm going to have to locate new bolts at the hardware store.
so much for being a bolt-in.

I had the same issue. Simple solution is to cut off the studs and buy bolts, washers an locking nuts at any hardware store. Total cost was about $2 and 10 minutes. Just make sure to buy galvanized or stainless hardware.

well i managed to drill out the two bottom studs but there is no way in hell that the top stud is going to come out. no matter though, it was the longest of the 3 and i've got plenty of threads to work with on that one.
so i got it installed using longer studs/bolts, ran the wire, wired it up to the cig lighter and a little light comes on in the switch. DAMNIT! its a switch with a light on the end... no good, now i've got a constant power draw.
i've given up for the night, everything works and the car is back together. going to go out tomorrow and get a roll of wire so i can wire the switch to a switched power source rather than a constant power source.
while getting the old bolt/studs off i bashed one out with a hammer, bending the lip of the cutout in the process. i think i put enough red RTV on there to cover up the bend, time will tell.

the light won't draw that much power. mine was always on. hell, the memory for the radio takes just about as much power as the LED on the switch does.
run a wire to the fuse panel on the driver's side of the dash. put it in one of the ACC holes if you are worried about it.
