well this is a difficult question. And every one will have a view on it.

Personally I say if you're happy why change!

You may be able to get a bit more power out af a different exhuast, but what do you want from the car? If its just a normal every driver then 5-10HP is not really a big deal.

If you're after every single pony and money isn't an issue change it. But having said that, removing the air con and interior will make it quicker so why not do that too.....

It's all about knowing where to draw the line and say "I'm Happy".

I would change it when you do the headers, flowmaster does hurt power.

I wouldn't change it if you like the sound, you prob wont notice it hurting your power until you add some more power adders cam etc...

i'd leave it if your happy. a couple of hp isn't worth is. does anybody actually have dyno sheets or back to back pulls with different exhaust systems to see if flowmaster is actually crap? i always here that it is crap...but now one has ever provided proof.

I've never read any proof either, just people jumping on the bandwagon. I think people get the idea they flow poorly because of their internal baffles and flow "directors" and other such exhaust voodoo. I had one before my Rumbler, and didn't notice much if any power difference. I just got the Rumbler because I wanted louder.

i have a flowmaster cat-back and an electric cut-out and i gained 10hp and 10tq everywhere just by opening the cutout. also i have kooks steeped headers, ory, underdrive pully, and a 224 cam. i dont know if that is the proof you want or if you want it compared to another cat-back. also i have seen people with magnaflow catbacks only gain like 1-2hp with a cut-out. i personly like the sound of the flowmaster but hate the power i loose through it so that i why i bought the electric cut-out.

i had it dynoed same day, same tune, same parts, just one pull with cut-out closed (through flowmaster) which was 350rwhp and 345rwtq and then one pull with the cut-out open which was 360rwhp and 355rwtq.

was dynoed same day cause all the parts i mentioned where put on at the same time.

Interesting, must be why I ain't feel any difference when I switched to the Rumbler. I heard you can't really "feel" anything under 20 hp, whatever that's worth.

There was a graph posted a few years ago with flow # for diff mufflers. If you cant see or understand the chambers as flow impeding i would not want you to work on my car. This should be obvious to you. If someone dont care then whatever but he asked if they are hurting his power and the answer is yes. If you cant tell by the design search out the graph.

I really don't know about the but dyno difference with the LT's. For sure everyones car is different for the most part. I do seem to notice it pulling harder and quicker from 4,000 up. But it isn't the oh Sh*T difference I was expecting.

Frankly I was expecting the same difference feel I got from going from my 89 camaro with 305 to the LS1. That was wishful thinking though.

I kept the flowmaster and y pipe setup. Had the exhaust shop make a custom y with a flow master merge collector. It sure sounds mean!

i ran my car completely stock with just a flowmaster cat back and did 13.6@105.... changed it and went to a loudmouth, got 13.5@106. if thats worth changin it then go for it. but if you're putting more stuff on the car, you might see more of a difference (as ban-ls1 said)

I picked up almost 6/10's when I went from JBA shorties and stock y to Kook's 1 3/4 lt's and ORY along with a SSRA. The car had a lot more in it too, but my clutch master went out.
