Default LS6 Install

So I did my research before I posted. I'm about to swap to the LS6 on my 98'. I have already deleted the AIR/EGR. I will block them off, when I pull everything out.

So all I need now is one 2001+ Coolant pipe, and two plugs (or another pipe). I read that some people just make their own from an autoparts store, instead of going to the dealer. Have most of yall who have done the swap just use two coolant pipes?

Just trying to get some plans on how I'm gonna do this, and I see that some people have problems of breaking the oil pressure line. I wont push back on this

Thanks guys!

I believe you will have better luck over in the hybrid section. Good luck.

slp sells the kit as well.

My local dealer charged me 50 bucks for everything.
Those part #'s are correct as well.

You can make your ls1 intake coolant pipe work with some fabbing, but honestly it isn't worth the hassle. It will more than likely leak after a few miles and you'll have to uninstall the intake again to put on the right plugs/pipe (ask me how I know). In short, do it right the first time.

To prevent the small cuts caused by the sharp little tabs pointing down from the cowl, remove them together with the weather stripping. This will make the install much less painful.

Its not to bad, just be prepared to spend 2 hours total on it. Patience is what I needed most, especially getting those rear bolts loosened/tightened. Just dont drop a wrench back there and waste an hour looking for it on top of the tranny

The first time it's a little challenging, but like anything it gets easier after you do it a couple times. My KS problem caused me to remove it a few times, but I got real good at it.

Make sure you get new seals for the crossover pipe and the rear plugs or you will get leaks. I went crazy trying to find a local dealer with the seals in stock.

Yeah, it's not worth it to me. I don't like cutting and grinding on things. I'd rather just get a catch can.

Is there a tool used to remove the oil pressure sensor safely, or any other part of the intake? Also, is it worth going ahead and converting to the LS6 pcv/valley cover? Thanks...
