Default Header gasket question

I'm putting in Pacesetters today and wondered if the gaskets that came with the headers are OK to use? After all this work I don't want to take it apart because of a leak. I'm assuming that I can't use ones that were on the car because their meant for manifolds and not headers. Thanks.

You can reuse your stockers or get new stockers. What material are the pacesetter gaskets made of?

Not really sure. It's not metal like the stock gaskets. They kind of feel like compressed cork or paper, but they have a smooth finish like plastic. I know that made no sense at all.

i'd say you probably wont have to pull those gaskets back out if you use the stock ones. There was nothing wrong with mine, but i used fel-pro ones and havent had any problems.

pacesetter gaskets are paper.

reuse the stock gasket or get a new stock gasket. I've done 2 sets of headers on 2 different cars w/ the stock gaskets w/o a problem. I've also taken my pass side header off and put it back on w/ reusing the same gasket and no leaks.

OK, I'll reuse the stock gaskets as they appear to be in good shape. Thanks.
