C5 sidepipes
Lame attempt at Photoshop (stole a members pic but looks just like my 97').
Pretty serious about the pipes. Cutting the rocker panel just below the sill. Thinking black chrome maybe.
Let er' rip boys..............

It looks nice but i do not think its doable. The exhaust is tucked under the body of the car You would have to cut the floor pan or have pipes run along the floor pan which would give you no ground clearance.

Dude doesnt matter if they were neon pink calipers that twin turbo C5 would own your ta and leave you with the weak wrists. ANyways nice car man, I think those side pipes would look sweet and sound amazing. Look just like the old vettes too. I say do it in the black chrome, that would be sick.

with 900 rwhp id paint that car flat black and put hot pink rat rod flames on it just to **** people off.
id do the shorter pipes out the side...theres a back halved vette that has the exhaust exit out through the rocker panel.
personally i dont think anything but exiting through the rocker panel would look nice...i would just do a traditional out the back one.

If you can set it up like the new vipers, with the pipes exiting out the rocker panel like ping king was saying. Either way it will look real nice and completely different than any other C5 out there as Ive never see a side exit exhaust on one yet. Good luck with the build and let us know what you choose!

The reason you never see that short side pipe is for safety. You need to have the exits behind the driver to prevent exhaust fumes from getting inside the car. If you look at vipers, saleens, etc... with side pipes, they all exit behind the driver.
You don't want to smell the exhaust all the time while driving, do you?
