Post your painted FAST intake Manifold
I want a fast intake, but it's so ugly. I was wondering if anyone has filed down the fast logo, and the wilson and painted it, preferrably black to look like stock. Thanks in advance. And if you could post any problems with the painting and approximate cost and where you got the paint done.

here is mine, painted, ported and installed yesterday. At first I was going to remove the FAST and Wilson, but After seeing how the intake looked painted I decided to leave them for now. Heads say AFR so I guess it is only fair for the intake to say FAST.

Haha, I knew 1000 questions would arrise.
He's been keeping those pics from everyone forever.
All lines you see are real braided line with -AN fittings. He knows I wouldn let him live it down with fake crap.
Valve covers are (I believe) Nasty Performance tall billet covers.
He does suck at taking pictures, the are alot of other "special" touches he's done on the car. Alot of it takes a little looking around though...

Damn. I'd already decided I was doing the FAST 90/90 this winter, but those pics have added the Nasty Fuel rails and braided/-AN lines to the package as well.
Exactly how did you have yours painted Lawman?
fyi, all those AC components polish up real nice with some Mothers aluminum polish. Doesn't take much effort either.

Thanks all for the great compliments!
Thanks, Brando, for fielding some questions for me...been busy lately and I can't get online as much as I'd like.
Let me try to answer some questions:
RDISADEIFAN: I can't tell you exactly how much I picked up with the FAST 90 over my LS6 and ported stock TB...My FAST 90 was ported/port matched by Mikey at Rapid Motorsports, but it was installed at the same time as a new Dominator cam and Kooks ORY...FWIW, I went from 421rwhp to 451rwhp with all of the changes combined.
777: As Brando said, it's all real braided stainless with -AN fittings...The PCV vent line from the TB to VC is Earl's -6AN. The PCV lines from the AMW catch can to the LS6 valley cover are Aeroquip -6AN. I must confess, there is one connection (to the actual PCV valve)that is done with a "fake" AN hose clamp fitting...sorry to disappoint you Brando! The valve covers are from GenIII Performance, but they have since changed their name to Power Trip Performance. They are machined from a solid piece of billet and were chrome plated.
orangeapeel, CaptUSA...thanks!
jRaskell, for the intake...I sanded off as much of the texture I could and I sanded off the Wilson logo. I used my dremel to remove a large portion of the FAST logo and finished it off with sandpaper...you have to be careful not to gouge the intake with the dremel. As Brandon mentioned, I filled in most of the molded indention for the factory fuel rail crossover...I used JB weld and sanded it smooth. There were some pits, though, but my bodyman used some kind of plastic filler for those. He then hit it with several coats of sandable primer, then base and clear. The paint is BMW Black Sapphire Metallic...oh yeah, I hear you on polishing the AC lines, etc...I just keep putting it off...too lazy, I guess!
I hope I hit all the questions...thanks again everyone for the kind words!
