I had my maf fail before and took it apart with a torx driver i think it was and cleaned it with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol and it works just fine now. I imagine the same thing would work for an IAT sensor, but I can't really see how it being dirty would hurt performance unless it is REALLY bad. Just make sure you don't hit any of the resistors when you clean or leave any cotton on the rails of the maf and you should be fine.

That's right, man, alcohol and acid brush or q-tip. I do it everyday(electronics technician). Just remember those leads are very delicate.

Electronic contact cleaner; spray directly on the MAF leads, heck at 91K empty the bottle on it. Radio Shack carries it.

Home Depot, electrical section, "Q-D" electrical
contact cleaner. It's better not to mechanically
touch the sense elements, just hose it good until
it runs off clear.

so just get some spray and keep spraying the wires until they are clean and the electronic cleaner will just come off on its own and wont hurt anything in my car??
