Default fast 90, is it worth the $$ on a H/C car.

I am stepping up to a tea 5.3 1.5 head and a x2 spec cam next season and was wonder what people with first hand experiance thought of getting it.
I don't want to fork out the dough if I'm only gonna get 10 HP out of a 1150 dollar investment.
IS IT WORTH THE MONEY, on a set up like this??????????

Get the intake manifold ported by a reputable shop to fit the heads perfectly, and you should see some good gains (15-20whp).

One of the mods I think posted that a 90/90 netted ~40hp on a H/C car, so that should give you some info to decide if it's worth it or not.

since you are running a 150 shot the fast 90/90 would be ideal. it has the burst panels in the intake for nitrous use, so you won't get a backfire thru the intake. think about getting it as added insurance.

I have the 90/90 combo and I would say buy it, its worth the money, and when you open the hood it will have a noticeable look that isn't like everyone else's and it will breath better.

I just love having "FAST" stamped on my intake manifold... It blends in nice with my flux capacitor

oh yea it was worth it. out of the box i gained 30 wheel horsepower in an m6 car... however, it is a 402 w/ a stock ls1 intake and t.b. but to combat that... i have budget PP heads and a way too small for the motor 224/220 116lsa cam.

so i think you'd see similar gains w/ a really good set of heads and a big cam in an m6 car.

Depends on where you are at setup-wise too.

I'm maxed out with my setup and the intake is restricting. A Mamofied FAST 90 will get me to 450HP.

Funny thing is the car is a riot now and blazes 1st-3rd gear now. Do I need the extra HP? Not really.

Will I buy it?

Most assuredly.

If I do buy it. I will paint it gloss black or red. I own a body shop. So it would be easy for me to do that!!

I'm not paying that kind of money just because it says"FAST".

I want it for that little bit a extra gain in power.

I gained 35 RWHP by changing my LS1 intake with the LS6.. I can't see the FAST intake which is 1150 bux being worth it. Over the LS6 intake, on a stock displacement engine, and a decent H/C combo I'd be surprised to see anything over 15 HP to the wheels. Dyno numbers don't mean **** anyway, its all about the ET, and I don't see the FAST intake being able to knock off maybe more than a tenth.. is that worth 1150 bux. Hell no.
