the reason i am asking this question is because that other thread got outta control. I WILL NOT put any open loop tune on my car to have 30 year old technology. i just wanted to know how to safely run open headers. is the extentions a temp fix or could the car be drive like every weekend like that or will the o2s go bad.

Pull your O2's and that will FORCE the system into open loop. Think about it, it will have no other choice but to use the preconfigured A/F tables hence the lack of feedback from an active sensor. <--this is for short term tho. Run at least 12" of pipe off the collectors for a more long term setup.

A much better solution would be to buy some 12"-18" bullets and clamp them on with maby some dumps. It would sound better and offer more protection for your O2's.
