I have a 99 Z28 A4 stock. The car is my DD and i'm going to be driving over 100 miles per day so i want to keep the best milage possible. How much mpg does headers take away?

if your not in the gas all the time...you'll get better mpg. Any performance work done to a car that makes it more efficant will help mpg...but it'll mkae that number go down faster if your hammering it more.

i agree. pretty much every bolt on will make your car more efficient and therefore use less gas. although you will be more tempted to nail it, once you get over that you will be straight. get it tuned also unless you plan on getting internal work done soon, then wait until after that

Maybe get another DD, if mpg is so important to you, owning a performance car and not using the performance seems at odds to me.
But yeah, if sensible driven you should notice no real difference in mpg with intake/exhaust mods +-.

It makes the combustion process better ie. better evacuation of spent gas. It can only help with mpg and power.
You'll never get your gas money back based on the money spent for the headers. ($500 for Pacesetters and y.) It'll take you 8 years of driving to save $500 wirth of gas.

After I installed my lt's I thought I would get miserable gas mileage cause I haven't had it retuned yet. It's actually about the same as long as I keep my foot out of it...but that's not why I bought the car. Besides it's not my dd anyways.
