Default FAST TB problems

I have a FAST 90mm TB and am having problems. One of them is FAST. The tech help argued with me telling me that my problem was not what was happening . Anyway..... my problem is the blade sticks right at the first .25" or so of travel. I had to put a return spring on it or else the blade dose not close all the way and my engine rev's out of control. With it I can only get approx. 70% opening of the blade.
So what do I do??? Get full opening but let the engine rev (not really an option) or accecpt 70% opening. I can't afford to replace it with a Nick Williams right now.
Has anyone run into this problem and found a solution. I don't know mabye sand the edge of the blade or somithing?

If I remember correctly, in one of the threads about a NW TB, a FAST owner said FAST fixed the problem for them. Find that user and ask him. Or hope that he sees this thread and responds.

Any chance you can return it or did you buy it used?

in all seriousness, wasn't the "solution" fast recommended more of just a band aid fix?

It might be the return spring that I am using. It was the first one that I found and have'nt had a chance to get a lighter one yet, it's pretty heavy. I am going to get a new lighter one tonight and hope that fixes the problem. It is strange though. The diffrence with and without it is plainlly visible. With it off there are no problems. 100% opening with the pedal. With it on I get the ~70%. I can still open the blade all the way by hand with it on so I know that the spring is long enughf. It's got to be the spring. A lighter one should do the trick.

At least I know that someone else has had the same problem and solution so I know that I am on the right track. Thanks.

update?

Just got the fast 90mm tb as well and am getting the sticking open problem. Actually, just like yours. THe last few tenths it sticks an doesn't shut all the way.

Also, does your tb blade have a hole in it? I don't think mine has one....

when driving around, car feels as if in cruise control ALL DAY LONG!! quite annoying and had on a few times turn her off becuz revs where getting to hot and didn't want to got crazy!!

So, besides this, has anyone else done any grinding, for example, to fix this problem? Or anything else that might work? (No throw in trash, get NW post plez!!)

I drilled a hole in mine and before I got it my friend had it on his bolt-on car and had problems at first, he sent it in and hasn't had a roblem since and either have I.

So drilling a hole in the blade fixed the problem? Did you drill it in the top or bottom of the blade, and how did it effect your idle?

So should I send mine in before I sell it to someone? It's never been used so I'm not sure if it has the sticking problem, but i see it's pretty common. I knocked a 100 bucks off of the price I paid, so whoever wants to buy it, shouldn't mind to much. Of course I linked the f/s thread to this one so that people know what they are getting into before they make the purchase.
Did FAST charge you anything for the quickfix, D-Muscle???

I don't think they charged my friend anything but he bought the TB when it first came out so maybe they were more forgiving then. I drilled a hole at the bottom middle like stock location so the car would idle no problem after the H/C install, just precautionary. I also had to adjust the set screw until the idel read right with HPtuners, so that may have also helped. until then it used to idle at like 1300 now its down to 800 or so.
