One cat after the Y will be VERY restrictive. What you want is two cats, one on either side of the y.

sure its legal b/c all of your emissions are going through it, but i hope you have like a 6 inch cat. look how big the two are for the 2 1/2 in factory, then double that.

Well officially it's illigal because it's a fedal offense to move the cats in that monor.

2nd you probably won't pass an emmsions test with it as it won't be efficent enough for the chemical reaction to take place on that volume of exhaust gases.

Also it will be far worse than running the stock catback in power terms. It would be like running you're entire exhaust as 1 1/2" piping instead of 3"

I was wondering the same thing but my car came from the factory with one cat so I figure I will be fine in terms of passing and not having restriction problem I hope. I am worried about it not getting heated up enough to function properly. I have no other choice tho because my ORY has no room for two cats.
BTW The cat Im looking at is for cars with up to 6.2L and a local guy said he would pass me with the cat after the Y so is that ok??

the lt1's came with one cat after the merge... far as ls1's you'll need two cats before the merge relatively close to the stock locations to be legal

Technically if you move the position of the cat or remove a properly functioning cat it is illegal.

Well the whole purpose of the question is that I want to put my cats back on with cut outs before them. I like it quiet sometimes and loud most of the time. Plus smelling like gas sucks when I'm trying to get up close to the lady. Sort of the sleeper thing also.
