Default Stock maf vs. SLP's 85 mm

My stock maf has to be replaced. Should I go back w/ stock or is the 85 worth buying with the SLP flow pac.

go stock again. It is not worth the headache of having other issues arise with the SLP one.

If you can tune for it, go with the 85mm piece...if you can't, don't.

If you want a 85mm, get one with a known calibration
(neither Granatelli nor SLP will provide you any such
info, but the curves for Delphi straight product are
freely available).

Stock!!! We had a ported stock MAF and a slp 85mm MAF and the stock MAF looked a hair smaller but we cut out the center bar so it basicly flowed more then SLP MAF and the track provd the ported stock ported MAF was .10 faster and 1 mph faster then the SLP

here is how to do it http://installuniversity.com/install...afapalooza.htm

That doesn't really prove much though, because the PCM's calibration (and thus its interpretation of the MAF signal) has a HUGE impact on performance.

I didn't have to retune... Just slapped it in, along with SLP lid and cai & 160* stat, and away she went. Seemed to breath a lot better. I've added the smooth bellows and a predator tune since then; still never a problem. But it never hurts to get a tune

The granatelli maf made my car through an SES light (for failed catalyst) and I got horrible gas mileage. I put the stock on back in. SES light is gone. Gas mileage is back and the car runs alot smoother.
