those with custom built y-pipes come in
Im getting my qtp lts installed soon and i am fairly sure i am going to skip the qtp y-pipe and get a custom catted one built. I was wondering if those who have custom set ups could post up pics of thier exhaust and give a brief description including brand names, costs and who did the work. Im thinking of getting Random race cats, flowmaster y collector and letting a shop fab the rest. Also should I go with 3" or 2.5" y for what will soon be a full bolt on car?
Thanks for your feedback ahead of time

Hmm.. for a car with ~400 rwhp, 2.5" Y-pipe is enough...if you plan on having FI, or nitrous, then go with 3" Y-pipe...
Random cats are the best, but they are also the most expensive ones. I'd go with Magnaflow cats (aka Carsound cats) that you can get off e-bay for $110 shipped.
PM me and I'll let you know what cats are the best in terms of small size.
I was quoted $350-$450 for a custom built Y-pipe, and I had to provide cats.
Not exactly the cheapest way, but worth it. Your car sounds so much better with LT and catted Y-pipe...no rasp, no annoying drone at 2000 rpms...and no smelly fumes.
How far is Darien from chicago ?

I used 3" Random Tech. 7000 series cats, then reduced the pipe to 2.5" and ran it into a flowmaster merge collector (2.5" to 3") and am 100% happy with my choices on size, and parts. I don't have any pictures on my comp now. But I'll snap a few in the morning and post them up!
