Does running an open cutout hurt anything?
I just got my QTP cutout installed today. I have Stainless Works headers and Random Tech high flow cats, does it hurt anything to run the cutout open?
First thing I noticed is that my exhaust tips shake quite a bit more when it was ideling, they usually just shook like that when the car was cold, today with the cutout installed and the car warmed up, they shook quite a bit more than usual when ideling. Just a while ago, I let the car warm up and even reved it a few times and they didn't shake as bad anymore....ah well....
But anyhow, can running it like this with the cutout open hurt my cats? Or anything else besides my ears?
Just wondering....

You just want to make sure that you have it somewhere where it is not going to scrape (really bad) and somewhere that gives you enough room...18" at least from the end of the manifold or header to keep from burning up your O2's.
So it can hurt your O2 sensors. Where is the cut-out located? In the I-pipe I assume.

In this second video you can see that the cutout is in the I-pipe. I felt bad cutting up that pretty piece of stainless....and the guy that did it went through 3 blades with his sawzall... Tough stuff!

I am sure the novelty will wear off quickly, but I sure had some fun with it on a gas run already.
And yeah...this is gonna hurt my ears, it's really rediculous....lol.
