Default truck coils

I have a few questions on the truck coils.

1) Where can i get them?

2) What part number are they?

3) Any idea on $$?

4) Do they bolt right in or do i have to make them fit?

Thanks

You can get them from any GM dealer or used.

Why do you think you need them?

According to "How to build High-Performance Chevy LS1/LS6 V8's" they work better for high RPM, high combustion-ratio engines.

Wrecking Yard?

I run the (Melco style) GM truck coils:

GM truck coils (Melco)
GM truck coil trays
MSD Truck wires

It all bolts right up.

I got them from valvegod@aol.com for less than $200 shipped.

high compression?

The stock coils have proven to handle HUGE hp without issue.

It's a waste of money to change coils (for performance reasons) on anything under 600-700 rwhp.

A trick many of us use is to move the coils around. If you can isolate the coil, swap it to a different location and see if the miss follows it.

I emailed him and he said that he does not have any of the truck coils right now. He said that he has the LS2/LS7 coils. He said that they are supposed to be better. Is this true or should i wait for the truck ones?

I would think the LS7 coils would be better as its the Top of the line LS motor....
