Hookers....Took about 2 months of summer driving before I saw rust under the coating.

Now I have SLP's and don't have to worry.

Well it depends surface rust isn't much of an issue it's only when they rust thru it's an issue. Think how long a regular exhaust lasts and how quickly rust shows on it.

If you plan on keeping the car long term then stainless is the way, if you think you will change it within 3-5 years then coated should be fine.

Why would your SLP's rust being that they are both stainless and coated. I didnt even think that was possible.

I have no idea how susceptible SLP headers are too rust, but stainless steel contains iron and all of them will eventually rust. If it is something like 304 stainless then surface rust is pretty common but it will not be damaging.

my jet hots started rusting after 4 months of summer driving-I was pretty pissed after spending all that money, now I have cheapy flowtechs-uncoated and I couldn't be happier-they rusted right away obviously-which doesn't feel so bad since I didn't pay for some crappy coating. I've had uncoated headers las 10 years through michigan winters, so if you don't mind what they look like than just skip the coating all together

Coated Pacesetters had the coated rusted off in huge sections after about 6-7 months. However, in their defense, my car is a daily driver and sees rain, ice, snow, and salt in the winter.

They are coated. I do not DD the car so it dosent see rain much and It has never seen snow. Just sucks knowing how nice they looked when I put them in and how carefull I was installing them to keep from scratching them. Then the surface rust. Since they look like **** I lowered the car and said if they drag against something oh well.

That's strange. I've had SLP LTs on my car for 5 years, and they don't have any rust on them.
