Default Lid Won't Work!!!!

I just bought a used lid off a member here. It came with the filter and the lid itself. It does NOT have the rubber boot to connect the lid to the MAF. Should it have come with that? I cannot hook the lid up without it. Where could I get one or can I ghetto rig something up to work? Thanks

What cant you use your existing one? When you order then new, it only comes with the lid, not the rubber boot.

Do you have a napa in your area? Take the lid and the maf there and get some rubber hose.

the lid should fit right around the MAF you might be talking about the bellows that connects the MAF to the Trottle body

well you can use your stock bellows or you can buy one off most site...

what i did is bought a fernco pipe connector from a hardware store 3.5" or 3" i cant remember (its a black rubber pipe connector) ...its a tight fit and you have to do some modifications like trim one side to make it angle for the fit.

just so you know after about a week it will loosin up so it wont allways be such a b*tch to take off an put on pm me if you have any ?

I pulled the MAF out of the factory lid. It would NOT fit inside the aftermarket lid. Around the "lip" of the aftermarket lid that the MAF should go in to, there is glue residue. Is there a part on the lid he could have taken/broken off before sending it to me?

Try heating up the neck of the lid with something like a hair dryer for a couple of minutes and then the MAF should slide right in.

I guess I will have to look at it tomorrow. The MAF housing is the SAME size if not BIGGER than the opening on the lid. It really looks like something was removed from that part of the lid. Is this possible? Is there something on the lid that can actually be taken off? I mean, there is yellowish glue residue on the neck like something used to be there.
