Default EBay 3" True Duals

Well guys I ordered those 3in duals off of ebay 2 weeks ago and thought I was gettin a good deal and earlier this week I happened to run across a thread on here that someone had said it was not a good system, and I was thinking OH ****. Well it came in yesterday. So me and a buddy off mine decided to install it last night. The only problem I can see with the system they sent is the driver's side pipe that goes INTO the X-pipe. They just make it "level" when it needs to have a small kick-down to clear the body of the car. Thank god I had a TSP 3" ORY. All I did was use the 2 driver-side pipes from the ORY and it lined up perfect and went right in the X-pipe and gave me my clearance from the body of the car. After we made that little change, everything went together fairly easily.

BTW I figured that with all of that exhaust on it, it would be a little more mellow and quiet, NOT A CHANCE. I don't know what I am going to do, but it's definite there will be a Noise Pollution ticket out of this setup. lol.

So is it a decent setup for the money? Are you saying it wont bolt up to long tubes without modifications?

Those ebay duals are crap, there are a few threads and major complaints about them.

I am the one who posted the thread about the ebay TD. My biggest complaint with it was the quality of the welds and the packaging. As far as the fitment goes the drivers side pipe off of the header runs right into the floor where the heat sheild is for the fuel line and will sometimes rattle. The welds are very poor , they look like bird **** splatter. I would say if you don't mind shoty packaging and **** poor welding then it is not a bad kit for the money just don't pay over $225-230 for it and that way you will have a few dollars to play with it to make adjustments.

not trying to hijack this thread but someone please tell me why so many people spend so much money buying these td setups from places. not at all saying my setup is better than anyone else's but i did save a lot of money just by having a muffler shop fab it up.

cost:
qtp headers, self installed $700
heddman x-pipe center section from jegs, $100
(2) dynomax bullet mufflers $70/pair
materials and labor from muffler shop $100
total=$1000 and under depending on brand of headers

i get many compliments. just thought i'd throw it out there for some of you lookin for td's

mine? man i love it. i do have bullet and yes it is rather loud and i have thought numerous amounts of times about changing mufflers but i honestly do get many compliments on the sound, which makes me keep shying away from that idea. i am friends with the guy who done the work and he does really neat work. i know everyone is not blessed by having a good exhaust shop in their hometown but for the ones that do, i try to stress to them to have it done because it saves quite a bit of money.

the only thing i do regret is not having header flanges welded on first (qtp's dont come with them). the guy just welded it all up together. now, dont get me wrong, it is very neat a pretty, its just that if anything happens and the exhaust has to come down, it'll have to be cut and redone.

i dont have any GOOD pics right now but i'll try and get some. gimme a min, i'll get the couple that i do have.
