No, the locking bolt is the only one that doesn't get lock-tite. Periodically check tension just to make sure.

Erik- A little off topic, but what did you use to paint your valve covers? What kind of prep did you do beforehand? My car is red also, and those look pretty nice.

Hey Erik, good start to the project that you and I discussed for your car. Very clean and the Tensioner looks great. Keep that belt where it belongs. Keep up the mods, I hope to hear about the H/C install in the next few months. Good luck.

** A little side note ** Every member donate $1 towards Erik's H/C pkg.

J/K But seriously Erik I know the strain being a student and trying to work enough hours to pay the bills. That's without factoring in the cost of mods. Hopefully by next year.

You don't need one unless you have a problem. Some people's stock tensioners get worn out and they start throwing belts and having belt squealing issues. This one lets you apply an adjustable amount of tension to the belt and comes with a high sided pulley to help keep the belt on.

Hey man basically you throw something like the solid tensioner on AFTER you install an aftermarket UD pulley, since the engine revs slightly faster, it can cause a belt to come off of the stock tensioner, basically it holds it on there so when your hittig WOT hard your belts dont go kaboom and you overheat and cant steer worth ****!!

its COMPLETELY WORTH IT

Hey buddy, sup, thanks for the compliments
Basically, when I was installing headers, i removed the coil packs..then i took a look and what did i see??? SHITTY VALVE COVERS HAHA

so i removed em, really easy...cleaned the **** out of em with some degreaser, then this stuff called ALL PREP, basically a stripper, rinsed with h20..let dry primed with high temp primer, a few coats, let sdry for bout an hour..then hit it with about 3 coats of red high temp paint...then about 3 coats of clear high temp....got all the materials at auto zone
HERES the secret though...

i put em in a 200 degree over for about 30 minutes, both of em...
the paint hardened....they looked beautiful, i am seriously considering the coil relo mod because you cant see em with those shitty coils...

thats it though
go nuts!
