Default Bassani Exhuast, Comments please?

I am thinking of buying a bassani catback when I get the money, but I have never heard it on a car, I want something loud and deep, but w/o a lout of popping. Also, what is gmmg exhaust, how much, and where to find it? Thanks

I have Bassani. I am VERY happy with it, and I've had a lot of different exhaust setups on LS1s.

Magnaflow with stock manifolds & cats
Flowmaster AT with stock manifolds & cats
Flowmaster AT with manifolds & gutted cats
Flowmaster AT with manifolds, race pipes, SLP Y-pipe
SLP 2OTL with manifolds, race pipes, SLP Y-pipe
SLP 2OTL with Bassani headers and Bassani ORY
And now the Bassani catback with Bassani headers and ORY.

By far, the Bassani headers/ORY and Bassani catback is my favorite. Very deep, powerful note. It's pretty loud at idle, but not too bad at cruise rpms. At WOT, it's deep and loud, but it's a "tuned" loud, not raw sound like loudmouth, and NO rasp. I've never heard this catback with cats though, that would probably quiet it down quite a bit. But with an ORY it's PERFECT!

RPM WS6 you are the first person I've heard of with this exhaust. Do you have the round or oval tips? You wouldnt happen to have a sound clip of it or be able to make one would you? I am definitely interested in this exhaust but have heard nothing about it. My other choice was the ATR. Have you heard this one and if so can you compare the two? Thanks

Thanks RPMWS6, have you ever heard the GMMG exhaust? Who makes it and where would you go to look at it? I listened to a sound clip earlier, it sounded very nice, pretty loud too. I will be running stock manifolds untill I get the money for Hooker L.T.'s. Is the bassani louder than borla or loudmouth?

Didn’t know they made it with oval tips? That must be new. When I bought mine the system had just come out and the 3” round slash cut high polished tips were the only ones you could get. The polishing is very high quality and they look great.

I don’t have any sound clips, nor do I have the equipment to make any. Sorry guys

I have not heard the ATR before on an LS1. But I have heard the GMMG on an LS1, but that car had stock cats and manifolds so it’s hard to compare to my setup. I can’t imagine anyone being unhappy with how this catback sounds or looks though; and the quality is also excellent.

Wish I could tell you guys more, all I can say is with an ORY and headers here are my impressions:

Idle: Pretty loud, not obnoxious at all but very noticeable. Deep and aggressive.
Cruise: Nice deep aggressive note, but not loud enough to become annoying or anything. Just right IMO.
WOT: Very deep and powerful. NO rasp, not raw, but still rather loud and very deep. Not quite like any other LS1 I’ve heard.

I am very happy with this catback. The fit is also excellent. With stock manifolds and cats I’m sure it will be quieter at any given rpm than my setup, but the pitch and note will probably be similar just less volume and more mellow.

Hope this helps.

RPM do you know what part number you bought? I was wondering if you had the Quiet Thunder or Street Competition version of the catback. Thanks

Oh and the oval tips look like this
