Default Are there any new affordable Intake designs on the horizon???

Just wondering, I have been putting off upgrading my '99 LS-1 intake to an -01 up LS-6 style for a while now. All this talk about the intake being the biggest bottleneck, and not being able to keep up with good ported heads. There has to be something new coming. How bout some rumors?

TIA,
-Nick

Not that I heard of. But what I have been doing is calling Used Auto parts yards in my area trying to find a used LS6 intake. In hopes of them selling it really cheap. Well I stumbled across a brand new one 01 LS6 brand new still in box for $300. Going to pick it up tomorrow. Never hurts to just call around and see if you can find one. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Fact: I have been tracking a cast aluminum after market intake that incorporates advanced porting ideas.

Fact: The intake is on it's 3rd revision after rounds of engine dynoing.

Rumor: Might retail slightly under a grand.

Rumor: It's supposed to be available this summer.

No, this one is from a small company in Michigan that also does some OEM work for GM.

Short runner design is all that I recall I was asked not to post the pics.

Corvette Fever recently had a blurp about Barry Grant developing a LS1/6 intake. Dono if it's going to be iron or aluminum or at what price. Perhaps someone else may know more.

PSJ I know the one you speak of i believe, it was being tested by ET Performance? and i saw it at A.P.E. a couple of days ago, it was by some company that stated with a "H" i think? not sure, but i did see acouple there, one of the cast one, and one sheet metal. Could we be seeing the same one? and yes, they look sharp and were talking around 700/800 retail.
