Default Power LOSS< Dragging a yacht

Please HELP ! Power LOSS

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay, here's wha thappened, please anyone, soon ! ! !?!?!!!?! I tok off air intake, up to throttle body. I have ported MAF, SLP Lid, and bought a smooth bellow. Put back together, kicked check engine, and ran awful missing cause lid wouldn't stay on for bellow being too big, so i put stock bellow back on and don't care to keep it if can fix car. Major power loss. It feels like i am draggin a three thousand pound trailer and check engine light still on after disconnecting battery for fifteen minutes. Any clue guys, please help> Also, if SES Light is on, wil it affect car power until i clear code, or does it not amtter if i fixed problem. I think i was sucking too much air where the lid wouldn't stay one, but back to stock now, and just does not have any power. PLEASE HELP< I"M STRANDED

this is a double post. this thread is already in the general section. there is no reason to post more than once in the forum. double posting on a forum is the equivalent of rape. don't do it. better me telling you than someone else.

i have already answered your question for you in the general section. please refer back to that post.

my bet is that the maf needs to be changed. Its so not worth it messing with the maf. Descreening maybe. But porting is not worth it.

it doesn't matter. messing with the MAF is bad news. it may have been hanging on by a thread. you just changed the airflow. that's all it would probably take to send a dangling maf off a cliff. take it to autozone. get the codes read. if it's dealing with the maf at all, take it off and clean it. disconnect your battery and wait a few minutes for the codes to clear. if you start it up and it still runs like ****, hit up a junkyard and get a new unported, stock maf sensor for a couple dollars.

also, try cleaning your IAT sensor. i hear a dirty idle air control sensor can mess you up.

Okay, pulled everytrhing back apart, pu tback together, still clueless. I started her and noticed that my SLP Lid was almost collapsing when i hit the throttle. So, sincei trimmed down where it clamps to the MAF housing, and made it shorter, i checked it, and sure enough, i had it too close to the MAF housing, and it wasn't allowing enogh air through, setting off the O2 codes, and wreaking havoc on my performance. These babies love AIR noone forget that. Simple solution to a horrifying problem, thanks all for your help. And oh yeah, never trim down your aftermarket or stock lid for that matter

To reset the codes, you have to pull PCM BATT and PCM IGN fuses, let sit for 10-15 minutes. I usually disconnect the - battery terminal too for good measure.

Ok. Hypertech goes in the trash. You need to get a cam and a REAL tune and the fictional "yacht" will vanish.

Read above guys i fixed it already, and sure hypertch's ga, but it came with the car, therefore free is not gay, so bite me. As for the cam, i wish i could, but they're expensive and gotta wait a little bit, as for the eng. sensor fuse, thanks, but i got the code cleared already, and yes, that does fix it and even fixes the hesitations and misses sometimes. Thanks guys
