magnaflow -- need your opinion, was i ripped off?
i was just at GM nationals in Carlisle and i picked up a magnaflow catback system. here is the thing though... the one i bought wasn't stainless, it was aluminumized. The muffler was magnaflow but i think the guy sellin the stuff just bent the pipes himself because the fitment was shitty as hell. I didn't pay $450 or anythin, it was $200 plus another $60 for the tips. I stopped by my cousin's friend's shop and one of the mechanics put in on for $60 so i ended up spending around $320 for the catback installed.
The reason i went with the aluminumize and not the stainless was :
1. the stainless he was sellin for $455 dont have that much money
2. i figured that ill be out of pharmacy school in 3 years and then i could afford to get top line stuff all around.
do u think it was a good choice or am i gonna regret the aluminumized tubes and was i ripped off?
also, what size are the stainless pipes of u bought from magnaflow directly? the ones i got were 3"

Just got mine for $325 from an ebay sellar also. Shipped, new.
But...you got it, so the only thing you can do is work with it use it for awhile, until you want to change it up again. I know how it is up at Carlisle.. If you are like me, its hard to turn stuff down. haha. I buy things on impulse up there all the time...then when I get home I always findi t cheaper online, or find some reason that I shouldnt have got it. Its the nature of the beast!

as long as you don't live near the shore/see lots of road salt, as long as it produces the same sound and performance, it's just fine. even if it's salty, it'll hold up 3 years. my old flowmaster was 2.5 years old and still looked fine despite some rust on the welds.

ah fnally some good news... it was kinda an inpulse buy and i wasn't in front of a computer to see how much they were selling for. but like i said, im gonna graduate in 3 years and it should hold up till then. i am happy with the sound but the fitment sucked, and i need to go to an exhaust shop to get the right angle on the tips, but other then that i am happy with it.
