Default Replacing MagnaFlow silencer w. pipe

I have this magnaflow catback, and I want to get louder. I've already tried a cutout and didn't like it, it wasn't a good solution for me, ran it open al the time.

Is there anyway I could replace the silencer on my MF-system with a pipe or something? I guess it'll be almost as loud as open cutout, but anyway. Any ideas?

The catback may offer a silencer piece, but there is not one on a single muffler to my knowledge.

you mean the muffler? if so yea, ive seen muffler deletes on E-bay or you could just take it to a muffler shop and they should be able to fab something up for you.

Just weld a pipe in where your 'silencer/muffler' is.

Sure, but it has one inlet and 2 outlets. A MagnaFlow muffler, one 3" and one 2.5" on one side, and just one 2.5" on the other side.

It's tough one...

see, this is a problem here.

you don't like the sound of a cutout so straight piping where the muffler is will sound exactly the same tone-wise! so that should be out.

you obviously want something that'll produce good sound quality...but you don't want to spend $150....

i'm gonna tell you this once: save up some money for a different exhaust setup. do NOT bastardize this job because you don't want to spend the money. you tried that route once with a cutout and you failed. do not waste even more money. save up a few hundred dollars and get a different system. you can buy TSP duals for $400 and apparently you don't mind loud since you ran your cutout open all the time so i think this is your best option. plus, you can sell the magnaflow for $150-$200 to someone on this site/ebay. you'll basically have duals for $200-$250.

don't let your wallet make your decision. don't half *** it. you'll only be throwing more money away for yet another subpar system.

No no no, I like the cutout-sound, but not the solution. My underbody treatment melts, and the CU leaks.

Try Texas Speed & Performance, I'm pretty sure they will ship to you.

Failing that there are several companies which have depots in the US, you get the good shipped to them and they will import it for you. I know there are alot in the UK anyhow, so I assume they might ship to Sweden even if there aren't any companies in Sweden.

As for cutting out the muffler. Yes you could, but if you have the Magnaflow catback it has a single inlet dual outlet on it. This means if you cut it off you will only have a single exhuast pipe/tip. To have a tip on each side of the car you would need a reverse Y made. Failling that save up and get another catback.

SLP Loud Mouth is loud and aslong as you keep CATS sounds good also.

Texas Speed & Performance offer a cheaper variant of the SLP LM called the TSP Rumbler.

TSP also sell duals which dump under the car. These will be LOUD but sound very good. However you would need to check whether it's legal or not to run dumped exhausts in Sweden, as I am unsure. In fact I don't think it's legal in the UK but I've been having a hard time finding out.

FYI - Muffler is pretty much an American term. In the UK a muffler would be called a silencer.

Same as what we call chips you call fries, but they are the same thing.

In the US this is a viable option, but in Europe Fbody's are pretty rare so selling such a part won't be easy or quick unless you are very lucky. Also due to lack of demand the 2nd hand price will have to be very low to interest anyone.

Sure... But as these guys says, I think I'll try Pacesetter headers and Y-pipe first, and then maybe dump it after the Y-pipe with somekind of muffler-solution, depending on how much room there is...
