Default Pacesetter headers, impressions...

Well well well... let me preface by saying, don't underestimate the oil dipstick. That POS took me and my buddies 4hrs to get out. Damn thing put up quite a fight. Other than that, here's what occurred. Car (bottom of tires) was 20" or so off the ground, back wasn't raised. Had to cut off that block tab as some have had to. Did NOT have to jack the motor. Headers slid RIGHT IN. No k-member notching, etc. Car has 97k miles on it. I am incredibly impressed with the fitment and quality on these things for 375 bucks. Toughest part of the night was aligning the EGR and AIR tubes (Aside from dipstick). Fired it up, let it idle a few seconds, drove it around the block at 130am with open headers (if my neighbors didn't hate me before, they do now), ran like **** obviously... total of 15 minutes run time, that about enough to burn off all that misc oil and **** that got there from handling? All in all, very happy, very excited, satisfied with the products. 8hrs, would've been at most 4 if the dipstick had come out as easy as it should have. No poly motor mounts this time around , sorry Blur, you didn't pimp them enough I guess Now I just need the TSP duals this wednesday...

My dipstick tube broke off inside the block. Took 3 days to get that little bastard out.

Man if that had happened, I probably would've gone postal on this thing. I edited my original post just for the poly mounts.

My dipstick came out fine? Didn't take long at all either...

and my car started up and ran pretty damn well with open headers on first start-up.

I'm really happy with my install, everything went really well.

I'll be installing Pacesetters this Monday.

What about the dipstick? Can't I just bend it over or what?
How hard is it to remove? Any special tools?

It's just a regular 15mm bolt, took a couple seconds to get it out for me.

I finally had to drop the starter and heat up the oil dipstick tube for it to come out. It took longer to remove that son of a bitch then it did to completely remove the stock exhaust and install new LT headers and true duals.

oil dipstick tube > me

i didnt have any troubles getting it out, getting the bolt back in was the real toughy. I would recommend a ratcheting 15mm, would make it a LOT easier
