Default how are you guys sealing your slipon collectors

My slip-on headers are leaking and I've tried evrything to get them to seal. I've used like a whole tube of RTV and still had no luck. It helped but didn't seal them prefect. I've been using the high temp copper seal(orange or copper color one). They are dynatech headers. HAving a shity time tuning the car because of the leaks....

I know some threads people were saying they had to like hammer their slip-ons onto the primaries. Mine go on pretty easy, deff doesn't require a hammer....

anyways, anyone have any idea to get these things to seal??

Get a 1ft piece of aluminum foil, fold it in half 1-2 times, wrap it around the pipe, use a 3" wide band clamp, torque to spec (~50-60ftlb)

Perfect gasket, no leaks, works everytime.

Your welcome!

My buddy who put custom stuff on his viper recommended the SAME thing to me, I'm gonna go outside right now and try it. Thanks!

You could have bought headers that were welded to begin with lol. I never understand the non-welded collectors thing. Does the weld weigh that much?

could you do the same thing with all the primary tubes? just wrap em near the ends and hammer the collector on (very gracefully of course)

I got a good deal on them used....so...

anyways, I'll figure something out....

I bought some "right stuff" to try to use...I think the copper **** is breaking down after a quick inspection today...

I also have speed tape(foil tape)..

maybe I'll try a combo of both.
