Default Porting a fast intake

How many of you have ported a fast intake? What were the results? What was the application?

I took mine apart to port it when I built my stroker, but the LSX base matched my 317 head intake runners so closely that I didn't bother.

I ported one (there's a thread around here somewhere on the subject)
It took me about 6 hrs. to match the port sizes and angles to a set of GMPP CNC heads, but we didn't do any A-B tests. With the ported FAST, stock TB, K&N cone filter, open LG headers, the GM HOT cam, GMPP heads and some dyno tuning on a 2004 ZO6, we got 462 WHP.

Both Tony Mamo and Ed Curtis offer porting on FAST 90mm intakes and both gave seen some pretty impressive gains across the rev range from doing so. Search the dyno section for many examples.

We have ported many FAST 90s in house and see an average gain of 11 to 18 rwhp with porting over an out of the box FAST. I definately wouldnt bolt one on without having it ported.

Thanks. We were pleasantly surprised. We started with a borrowed race cal that must have used bigger injectors, as it was dead lean and the headers were glowing the first run (<400 HP). After we richened it a ton, pulled out some spark and replaced the plug wire we cooked in the first pull, it took only a few more to completely dial in, thanks to Peter at Auto Worx.

i'd say they are porting where the runners of the intake meet the head.there is port grooves in the lsx so you don't over do it but they may do more.i just deridged mine so i'm sure i'm leaving alittle power on the table but that ridge is rediculous.
