Took Thermostat Out Should I Get A 160??
as the title says i have taken out the thermostat over the summer so it would stay a lil cooler but should i buy the 160 degree thermostat that everyone in the world has? i do have HPtuners so i can turn my fans on whenever i want to. would this be a mod i will NEED?

I wouldn't ever run without a thermostat of some sort. As for what temp to go with...to me it would depend on where in the states you live. It get's too damn cold here in the winter months for me to run a 160 stat. I compromised and am running the factory installed one. (I think it was rated at 187)

well my cars mostly stock I was weary of the 210 degree temps for high performance driving . I had it at my fathers shop to see where the actual temp was when the fans cut on /off . Stock no programing 187degree stock thermostat . The car ran a consistent 210* on a real gauge 210* showed on the dummy . ac on/off didnt matter it hovered around the same temps. I ordered a Be-Cool 160* thermostat and still no programing to lower the fan kickon on a 95* day with the ac off no fans even come on in stop and go traffic so I figure Im around 180* . I am going to go check it again on a real gauge to see the actual temperature . The dummy in the cluster is still 210*
Hope this helps.

The Be Cool I bought says it wont let the engine overcool itself .wtf ? Me trying to put 500miles on my new clutch so I drove her around tonight for 2 hours with as much stop and go . when I got home I popped the hood and left it idleing I thought the fan would at least turn on once but it didn't . never heard the fan the whole drive .

the fans are still on their stock settings , before the thermo install they cut on at around 210* . If I turn on the a/c I can manually get them to come on so they are still working properly

well im DEAF my fans are running both of them . I went back to the shop and hooked up a OBD2 scanner .the engine coolant temp was 226* This was starting it after I turned it off from getting off the highway . My temp was about 219* steady. I need to lower my fan kick on some feirce . I got t boned for 60 bucks for the Be- Hot themostat . I run 93 octane and it showed I had 0 knock at this temp . I also found I have a miss on the #2 cylinder at idle .
