Wow, I need to chill out, advance auto parts has one and it's $35. Someone told me they were only available through GM and they were always on backorder

Believe the 99-02 is 12562267 (doublecheck). Put the new one in BEFORE reinstalling the intake - hard to get to w/o the GM tool/socket. Dealer might have one in stock, but they list for about $50.

Make sure you get the special socket for it, and slip the socket down over the sensor while you're installing the new manifold. This will help protect it on re-install.

Cool, from that pic I'd spend some time cleaning anyway. Not trying to be a smartass, only done a couple intake swaps but haven't seen one like that, just sand here in Florida.

I get small leaves in my blower box, pull the motor and clean it out every other year - don't know how they get in there either.

Do most auto parts stores rent this socket out? I'm getting ready to install my LS6 intake in the next couple of weeks. Also while anyone is reading this, should I replace the 8 intake gaskets as well? I have GM part # 12533587 for the gaskets, but I've also seen the orange Fel-Pro gaskets as well? Any preference on which ones seal better?

the gaskets shouldnt need to be repalced. and dont worry buddy it happens alot with the oil pressure sending unit no big deal, jus do us all a favor and take a vacum cleaner to that ****! but be careful dont get crap in the ports. better yet put some paper towels in them so noting falls in there!

I put some rags in the intake ports and (carefully) took a shop vac to clean that crap up

Yeah I got everything put back almost, I just need to properly torque the manifold bolts down and then work my way back from the throttlebody. I did the !AIR and !EGR at the same time so it is a little messy.
