What plugs to use in my new motor?

Default What plugs to use in my new motor?

hey guys i am just about done builing my 455 ci ls1. i had the tr55's in my motor before i did the work to it, but i wasnt sure if the tr55's could be used with this motor as well. thanks for the help

I would use one step colder lug if the motor has like 11.1 compression to keep down detnation

im not sure about the 7.0....but the first set i used was the ac delco iridiums in my 5.7...ran fine

thanks for the help, yeah the car will have fairly high compression, but it will be low enough to still run on 93 octane. i cant remember exactly what the compression is off hand now. but so the tr 6 would be my best bet? thanks guys

go AC/DELCO for 455 ci.....they are GREAT plugs.

A 7.0l would be around a 427. 455 is more like a 7.4-7.5l.

Me. They are cheap, proven, and safe.

Look up some people running large displacement and PM them. Katech/MTI or anyone else who builds big CI motors should be able to give you some help if you give them a ring. Who built the 455?

Steve at race engines did the block work and did a great job. My dad and i are the ones assembling the engine. maybe ill just put the ac delcos in there for now, cause after we dyno tune it, we will pull a few out anyway and take a look at them, so we will see what they look like at that time and could always change them. thanks for the help
