Default The Sound of a Stang

I can respect the look and "power" of a mustang. but what i really like is their sound. I would never own a ford im all GM, but how do i get my t/a to sound like a mustang. You all know that sound, i heard true duals can get me there but from the clips ive heard i dont think so. i have lt headers no cats 3 inch y and all the way back to a magnaflow...ideas guys?

well ... if you get a smaller engine like most of the mustangs have and get some exhaust with an h pipe it should sound like a stang .. but why?!

We will never sound as good as the Mustakes, no way around it. My friend just put Bassani headers, prochamber (like an H pipe, it's actually a wave cancelation box), into dual flowmaster 40's dumped. This was in a '96 Cobra BTW. It sounds AMAZING.

You are right--never sound the same..different firing order for starters, different size of engine...also aluminum vs iron.

Bottom line is you won't be able to duplicate the sound because there are too many differences between the two engines.

I've had the dual exhaust with an x-pipe, and trust me, it sounds NOTHING like a Mustang. However it does sound good....just way too loud. I had the duals from Lane with the 14" Magnaflow Magnapacks in it...still way too loud and unrefined.

I'm a Hooker leghumper now...

I know how to make your LS1 sound better than a Crustang...

Add a twin turbo kit exhaling through open downpipes. Here's a soundclip.
