I can't tell you about the Kooks or how they compare against the Supermaxx's...
I have the Supermaxx's and am very impressed by them:
- very well made.
- very good fit (they just about fell in by themselves).
- the system kit comes with everything (including O2 extension cables).
- the Y-pipe is very nice, has 2 large radius's and is braced for strength.
- ground clearance is good.
- clearance around steering column, k-member, engine, trans. is very good.

From what I've seen Kooks, have better y clearance. The cats are also a part of the y so there is less hardware involved with Kooks, you don't have those flanges, just the 3 band clamps. Not sure if you can get Supermaxx without EGR either.
Kooks also have velocity spikes, I'm not sure if Supermaxx does.
I was looking at these headers as well but went with Kook's, I'm glad I did.
