Default SLP LM and backpressure problems??

hey guy, well if u didnt kno already i had just bought a 02 ss, well its got long tube headers, ory, and the STOCK CAT BACK EXHAUST SYSTEM!!! ARRRRRG...they just put a diff muffler on....soo i wanna get a cat back now, and i loooooove slp, and ihad the lm b4 on a z28, well i was told that since i have an ory with the long tubes, that putting the LM 1 on itll throw a ses lights cause i wont have enough back pressure....now i realize ill prolly lose some torque or a lil hp if that i dunno, but will it ruin the whole backpressure?? or what, or what exhaust would u recommend, cause i dont wanna spend like 600 on one...:-\

If you'll search here, you'll find that the whole needing backpressure BS is nothing but that.....BS. I don't know how the hell that "the car needs some backpressure" crap got started. Putting the LM 1 on it will not take any power away, you'll gain a lil tq and hp but it's gonna be loud & raspy as hell.

Bottom line is you can do it, but it won't sound good. Performance will not be affected. Recommend another brand of catback to go with your headers, like Magnaflow. Sounds great, inexpensive, stainless, can't beat that.

go for some duals, you'll regret the LM. In the end you'll probably end up like me throwing another $100 at you LM to make it a BorlaMouth.

1. The PCM can't detect backpressure - therefore, it can't possibly throw a code for not having enough of it.
2. You don't want backpressure in your exhaust...if you don't like the person that told you this, tell them to stop being retarded. If you somewhat respect them, just smile, nod, and respectfully request that they do what you ask, and you'll deal with the lack of backpressure in your own special way.
