exhaust and headers and how much HP gain?
i was wondering and i am in a discussion with my ex-boyfriend on how much HP i will gain with my SLP longtube headers and a full SLP loudmouth exhaust. does anyone on here know how much of a HP increase i will get from putting this on my car. it is going on tonight if all goes well. i read that the headers will add up to 41 HP and the exhaust will add up to 25 HP. i just want to get some opinions on here, because he allways thinks he is right. he's not. his first mistake was buying a 98 cobra mustang. he doesn't know about LS1's and thinks he does. so if you guys could help me on this one i'd appriciate it.

i don't have time to dyno it before and after. it is going on tonight. i got one hell of a deal on it and couldn't pass it up. got it dirt cheap and getting it instulled for free. if i had the chance i would. i'm hoping to be in the mid 12's this year with it. i'm just trying to see what other people got with long tubes and exhaust.

I've usually used the SOTP method, (Seat of the pants) feel after i do each mod. lol. I really don't have the time to drive an hour to spend almost 100 bucks for 3 pulls on a dyno that isn't even the best dyno for rear wheel drive cars because it's an all wheel drive dyno.

It depends are you getting it tuned too? Just bolting it up usually any Long tube header will add 15-20 RWHP and any good catback will add 10-15 HP. So your talkin anywhere between 25-35 to the rear wheels, with a tune I would say you could hit 35-45 RWHP, but I wouldnt go by the SLP number seem REALLY high from dyno charts ive seen

I only gained 15rwhp/18rwtq from stock to FULL exhaust.
All of these pulls were on the same dyno. My car was 321/331 stock. I added longtubes, ory, and Hooker catback and it made 336/349, weak gains huh? Then I had it TUNED, which is the key, and it made 354/373. In this configuration it went 12.30s@113 on Nitto DRs. BTW, m6.

you will be in the 340-350 range with a tune, maybe 360's if you are lucky- most likely not as you are going with the SLP's. You should of gone with cats as it is going to be very raspy with the loudmoth on there, and watch out for speedbumps/potholes as the SLP headers dip pretty low.

the long tubes will make you go lean, and then your pcm will compensate and dump a lot of fuel making it run rich. A tune will clean up the A/F, and there are a lot of other things that can change as well. You can pick up quite a bit from a tune even over stock, but is kind of a waste of money till you actually get some mods like longtubes. You shouldn't need a full tune for longtubes, just a basic one that most tuners have on file and should charge around 150
