Default Header install help asap

I just installed pacesetter longtubes and an Ory. I already have loudmouth 1. I just started it up and it was incredibly loud. I have never heard this setup in person before but omg. There is a lot of engine noise coming from the engine, sounds like a different cam all together. I revved it a few times, and it felt strong and climbed a lot faster. Once or twice it backfired and blue flame shot out the back. It did not feel like it missed at all. I replaced the plugs. Does this sound normal? I mean the engine sounds crazy as hell

from what ive seen, the louder the exahust or better flowing, the louder the engine (within reason). i dont know if it is a rule of thumb, but its just what ive seen.

do not buy the slp lt's, they are horrible. if you want to spend that much money get kooks or qtp's, or get some pacesetters for cheap. slps are horrible

No, I think you have a leak at the head. That back fire usually happens when a little fresh air gets pulled down one or 2 of the primaries. It shoul not be that much louder under the hood, but that setup will be very loud in back!

I wouldn't buy the SLP lts either. Much better headers for the money in this day and age.

Yeah, I can vouch for the LOUD *** exhaust! I just installed Pacesetter LT's on my car with a LM1. Today, I got everything welded up and COMPLETELY together. All I can say is....dear GOD!
Havnt exactly decided if I like it or not, yet though. May be a lil much. Even for me, and Im a country boy used to loud *** trucks! LOL

Thats just it tho. They're NOT horrible,...just pricey! And I don't mind it cuz I'm happy with all the other SLP products I've ordered! Great customer service!

Friend of mine has SLP's LTs and he loves em. Took him under 4 hours to do the install too. I can't wait to hear em with a LoudMouth.

For the money I would buy kooks or QTP's since they are alot better quality to me and fit way better. No real clearence issues to deal with, just my opinion. But to each his own I guess. Run a search about them before you buy them.

I just saw a pair of kooks with a hole right through the primary where the AIR tube used to be. Real good quality there.

I have a 5 year old set of uncoated pacesetters that survived a year in upstate NY and they are still perfectly fine. Pacesetters FTW

more info please

i doubt its from the quality of the headers.. prolly from somebody who welded a blockoff plate on...

stainless will last forever... way longer then non coated pacesetters...

i have coated Pacesetters and luv um...

hey get those slp and let us know how it goes. lots of people bash them. but i want to see if they make power. i think they hang low, so that way the y pipe doesnt bang the floorboard like the other brands do. plus i think there has to be a reason slp made there headers that way. i think on gmhtp they used slp lt on a gto, and it made like 50 hp!! thats with a dyno chart too..

Blockoff was bolted on in the existing holes on the tube.

My uncoated pacesetter are just fine and are old.
