Stock intake with a K&N filter
i bought an 01 camaro z28 recently and he put a borla exhaust on but he has the Stock intake with a K&N filter. Would i see any gains with a lid?

Get a lid that's where the power is.
The k&N is not the best filter but if you have one then don't worry too much. When clean they do flow better but you're not talking noticable HP.
Just make sure it seals in the air box and make sure the filter is clean. Even partially dirty k&N's flow way worse than a paper filter.
If you don't want to worry about the hassle of cleaning and re-oiling the filter sell it and use a OEM paper filter instead. It's a lot cheaper.
If you do clean the k&N watch for over oiling as it will get on your MAF and bugger up the readins making the car run bad.
SEARCH should provide more info on this.

I wish I could find the article, but I read where a major performance magazine tested out 6 or 7 different lids for the LS1 and most of them netted 3 - 5 peak RWHP. If I can find the link to the article, I'll post it up. As far as bang for the buck goes, 5 RWHP for $95 isn't too bad!
