Need Help Diagnosing Problem, Help!!
OK im stumped for the first time, Ok heres the problem. Im driving along and car is running great. All of a sudden it starts to surge and load up while at cruising speed. Then starts to backfire and go crazy. If i stomp on the throttle or rev it up it will clear up and run ok for about 30 seconds then gradually start to do the same thing, getting worse over the coarse of a minute or two. Then out of the blue it will be fine for 10 minutes or so.
I have changed
-MAF:
-Sparkplugs
-Plug Wires
What could be causing this. Im not throwing any codes. Could an injector be stuck open? Or o2's going out? bad coil?
Car background info:
98 ls1 ws6
ms3 cam
headers
80mm throttlebody
tsp td's
rear o2 sims
stock 98 injectors
tuned by mail order tsp tune, ran fine for 1 yr prior to it acting up.

I am going to say it has to be either a spark plug or a spark plug wire not on to well . All it takes is one spark plug having a hairline crack for it to cause trouble . This has happened to me and I did not throw a code yet that was the problem .
Also the same thing could be with the spark plug wires not getting a good connection or a bad wire .

Check all grounds, and make sure the battery terminals are clean and well connected. Sounds like an electrical bug to me.
The cracked plug problems usually surface when it's cracking up under WOT, if you're fairly sure about the plugs/wires, I'd look elsewhere. You could also just let her keep doing it the next time it happens and maybe it will throw a code. My car stumbles hard sometimes and ocassionally throws a MAF code when it happens, but I think it's the wires into the connectors messed up. Doesn't do it often enough for me to give a **** yet though.

WHat should the pressure be and how do i tell if the injector is bad? just replace them?
I know the plugs are ok, and same with the wires. They are all new. Taylor 10.4's and tr55's

Sounds like the same problem I had. It happened to be a plugged fuel injector. I had to check to see whether the left or right engine banks were lean or rich, and where the computer thought the misfire was occuring.
